This beautiful Japanese set is something you will have forever and will pass down to your kids. It is a great conversational piece. This set has all the essentials, great quality steel, and a wonderful "D" shaped handle that fits in your handle so well. The knives themselves are not only an artwork, but very sharp high quality knives.
Not only will your friends comment on the beauty of this set, they will be wowed and amazed at the sharpness! It is truly a Japanese line with the sharpest of edges, the hardest of steel (SG2) and comfort of the D shaped wooden handle. The extremely sharp edge angle makes the most delicate task such as slicing through fish a breeze. The hammered finish is beautiful and practical as it keeps food from sticking to the blade.
It is made and sold in Japan as a premium knife. If the Japanese love it and buy it, you know it's the best.
The Miyabi Artisan knives have a beautiful hand hammered finish which help to release food as you are slicing so that it doesn't stick to the blade. The edges are razor sharp and stay that way thanks to the SG2 steel core. With a true wood handle this set is a beautifully made tool for your kitchen.
If you are a fan of SG2 steel or just want a fabulous Japanese block set this is the one for you. Artisan is a beautifully balanced and crafted knife. A set that you will cherish for a life time.
One that lasts! The quality of the Miyabi Artisan line is one to enjoy for many years - sharp edging, hammered blade, and the beauty of the end cap and rings with red detail. I love the extra slots in the block and nice to have the extra scissors.
I absolutely love the Artisan line. They're very sharp and hold an edge well. Heads up on the block though, the small slots on the left side, 1st and 3rd slots will NOT fit any of the Miyabi knives. The middle left is the only small slot that will fit a Miyabi parer. I hope they fix this issue with the blocks.
I almost have this Miyabi Artisan set. We used it daily and even our daughter knows how to care for it and I say, this is a knife for everybody, so versatile D-shaped Cocobolo pakkawood handle. This is a block set you won't ask for anything else however a utility knife is an adds on to this tset hen you're all set. Every Miyabi are Hand-honed using the three-step Honbazuke process for a 9.5 to 12 degree edge, a CRYODUR blade, ice-hardened to Rockwell 63 and an SG2 core is protected by two layers and finished with a katana edge.
