[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been wanting a vacuum sealer for quite a while but with limited kitchen counter space I knew a traditional vacuum sealer wouldn’t make sense-enter the Fresh & Save! I love this little gadget! It takes up no space at all and truly has helped cut down on my food waste.

The BEST food savers!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used everything from ZipLock bags to vacuum sealers to reusable plastic containers from various manufacturers, and the Zwilling Fresh and Save system tops them all. It’s EASY, FAST and WELL-BUILT - should outlast me. The rechargeable, hand-help vacuum is a charm and much easier to use than other products of similar type. This should extend the life of my groceries, especially meats and produce, to pay for itself in no time.

This vacuum sealer works extremely well and can preserve food far longer than ordinary plastic wrap and zip lock bags. The containers are best for fragile foods (e.g. berries) that would be crushed (unless first frozen) if vacuumed in a bag. The bags are great for lettuce, sliced vegetables, cooked foods, deli meats, cheeses, avocado, etc. The hand-held device is very compact and easily stored in a drawer, so it doesn't occupy counter space. Yes, the containers and bags are a bit pricey; but are re-usable and will reduce wastage. Fresh blueberries in a sealed plastic container was good as new two weeks later. One trick I've discovered is wrapping up food in plastic wrap before inserting into the vacuum bag. It may feel like an extra step, but it keeps the bags cleaner as it doesn't directly come into contact with the food, and enables them to last longer for multiple uses.
