This 13.5 quart Dutch Oven is a true family heirloom! I just invested in a commercial induction burner because I only have 2 burners on my stovetop. I needed a large compatible pot for harvest time, when I cook my home grown heirloom tomatoes into copious amounts of Tomato Base and Chutney. I have not used it yet but really looking forward to harvest time now.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have 3 of these and use them daily, sometimes all 3 at the same time. I love the Staub dark interior. I had another brand that had white inside and it stained. I am a Staub fan foreve now!
This is the perfect pan for a crowd. Can roast three nice sized chickens, braise large brisket and roasts, gallons of stock and sauces, endless amounts of rice and pasta. My favorite for frying. We love using this for our holiday fish fry. Cooks up tons of seafood, fries, hush puppies and fritters in one pan. The grenadine color is beautiful, and I always get compliments when I use.
Perfect for a crowd! You can sear meat, simmer a sauce, make a stew, roast vegetables, fry chicken, boil potatoes, bake a dessert, and everything in between! The heat capability of this pan is amazing - it heats up quickly, evenly, and retains heat all the way through the cooking process. The cocotte has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lids which collect and return all moisture back into dish - keeping your dish moist and the flavor base intact. All pieces can be used on any cooking surface and are temperature safe up to 500F.
If you entertain a lot and with large crowds, you will thank yourself for having this cocotte! I love this size and I love this shape especially for roasting chickens or baking a boule of sourdough bread. You have enough room to add your vegetables in with the chicken, which is a huge plus. For baking bread the cast iron is perfect because it conducts heat so well, and retains the heat. The spikes under the lid collect moisture and self-baste whatever dish you are baking or roasting in the oven, all while it is cooking, so almost like you have an extra hand! You get to take all the credit though! Bread does come out perfect when baked in a staub and your chickens will come out juicy and golden brown.
This big boy does it all... can braise and seer...then slow cook and make many portions of stew. Heavy cast iron heats quickly and then holds that heat. Enameled beautifully inside with black enamel within for easy cleaning.
Super size for a large one pot meal. Great for making soups, stews or even a pot roast. Oven safe which is an awesome feature. Cleans easily and always looks so pretty because of the enamel coating on the outside.
This Staub grenadine cast iron colorful enamel outside adds flare to your kitchen and table, it's one of my favorite. There's variety of colors to choose from, and caters individual color taste. These pots saves you another dish, you can serve your delicious food straight to your table. The innovative lid features tiny spikes on the interior that continually release condensed liquid back onto the food, yielding moist, flavorful results. Its durability is perfect for day-to-day use.
