We are a family of four and I was in the market for a versatile everyday pan. This pan goes beyond expectations! Perfect to roast chicken and vegetables, meats, stews, and casseroles. Also a great Paella pan, which I make weekly. The cast iron interior makes for a real crispy bottom, which we all fight over. This pan can be used on my induction cook top, as well as inside the oven. Have also used this as a deep fryer which works out great because I don't have room for tons of different pans and appliances. in the kitchen. Works as a beautiful serving piece, which not only saves more space, but also makes less clean up. This pan checks all the boxes.
I love cooking with a lid. Most skillets don't come with one but here with the braiser I get the best of both worlds. A large flat base for a great sear and a domed lid to keep in moisture. I use this pan for all meals. I really like the low maintenance enamled cast iron of Staub. I love not needing to season the iron and the colors really pop,
I use this pan at least 3 or 4 times a week, as we are eating in more due to the quarantine restrictions. The heat in the pan is distributed evenly and does such a great job browning. I make our entire meal in the Braiser and serve the meal in it as well. Beautiful and functional cookware.
This braiser is so versatile. It can be used to make soup, steam, deep fry, pan fry, saute, braise or bake. I purchased it to use to make cioppino at Christmas time, it has the perfect depth for cooking the fish stew and I can get a whole crab in it. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly, evenly and retains heat for hours, perfect for a holiday meal. The gorgeous grenadine color says Merry Christmas all over it.
The glass lid really lets you see what’s going on inside the pan during the entire cooking process. It’s really helpful to be able to know how the food looks while it’s cooking. The lid is also very sturdy and oven safe at high temperatures. I also really like the heritage style handles that come on this pan.
