Absolutely gorgeous and delivers hard. I used it twice the day I got it -- for a veg soup and bread-baking -- and the next day for a mushroom bisque, and I understand now why people make a big deal about this kind of cookware. The heat control is superb and the little condensation bumps on the lid are an excellent idea, really make a difference for long-simmering food and I imagine for the bread as well. (I baked one loaf in a cloche, so will have to compare.) These Staub people are smart with this sale, well done for introducing cooks to their gateway piece. :D

Elevate your Cooking Experience with Staub

Received this cocotte from my wish list for Christmas. A beautiful addition to my Staub collection! I own several Staub pieces and use them often. Having become quite the fan, I have also purchased Staub as gifts and recommended their products to others. Originally I started purchasing the matte black as I love the brass knobs but have recently started adding the absolutely stunning grenadine pieces to my collection and have acquired 3 pieces in grenadine this year - will be switching out the nickel knobs (although gorgeous) for brass ones. Staub’s innovative designs, quality of materials, incomparable glasslike finish and superb performance will elevate your cooking experience!
