Zwilling does a great job of competing in the value cutlery market. The Henckels International knife lines are always a cut above the competition.

A perfect combo for getting many jobs done! The hollow-edge Santoku takes care of fish, veggies and even garlic and ginger, while the paring can do all the smaller hand jobs. This is an affordable pair that works for in doors our outdoors and makes a perfect gift for someone's first apartment.

For me, and ideal combo

This set pairs a 7-inch hollow edge santoku with a paring knife, a great combination of knives in my book. I cook with a lot of vegetables 0- everything starts with some combination of onions, garlic, peppers, carrots, celery, leeks and ginger. So these two knives... they are my workhorses.
The Statement line is a very distinctive, and very popular around the world. Stamped from high quality German steel, they are durable and will maintain their sharpness with normal care. These full tang knives feature an steel cap at feel secure in most hands. The curve at the end of the handle is comfortable for larger hands. These knives are a very good value.

Try a Santoku

This value set is a great way to try a Santoku if you haven't used one before. Your chef's knife is great for most cutting jobs but a santoku is wonderful for chopping vegetable and has a broader blade profile for harder vegetables like squash. The edge has hollow to help keep food from sticking to the blade as you slice. The paring knife is a great size you'll reach for frequently.

I love a good santoku knife. It makes chopping an onion so much easier and with fewer tears. The fine edge blade is very sharp and will be easy to maintain. A 3" parer is perfect for any small tasks that you have to hold in your hand.

The santoku is a nice sized blade and a good flat cutting edge. The paring knife is a good weight and balanced nicely for detailed cutting work.
