These are all the knives you will ever need. The chef does most of the work. The serrated knife is great for tomatoes or bread and the paring is great for any small task such as peeling an apple.

Henckels 6" chefs knife: 55 years and still great

My husband and I got a Henckel's 6" chef's knife and 4" utility knife as wedding gifts when we married in 1975 and they're still the most used and dependable tools of my kitchen. I sharpen them once a month and they hold an edge, even though I cook once or twice a day. These knives have prepped thousands of good meals over the past 55 years. I'm giving the boys our originals and buying myself some new ones to celebrate.

Bought J.A Henckels and J.A. Henckels International in early 1980's-1990's: in 2019 I'm still using them daily! Why a review from a purchase so long ago? Simply put, it is my testament of how reliable and exceptional J.A. Henckels knives are! Far less fear of German steel from rusting, after use I hand wash and dry them immediately! LOVE THEM! With reasonable care, it's guaranteed to be a 100% positive buy to last a lifetime!
