The best all-around Dutch oven!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was in the market for a Dutch oven that would work for soups, stews, sautés and breads. This 5.5qt Cocotte was exactly was I was looking for and more. I usually cook for one, but I like to meal prep a larger batch so that I am not cooking every day. This size is also perfect for a family of 4. It is not only beautiful to look at, but it cooks your meals to perfection as it heats evenly on medium heat as well as helps retain the moisture in your foods with the special lid. The textured enamel is an easy transition for those used to cooking on non-stick surfaces but 10x better. Also, the gorgeous Graphite color goes well with my other All-Clad cookware without clashing. I would definitely purchase this Cocotte again!

Great Pan, Sizing Issues

The pan itself is fantastic. The issue is that I always planned on adding the accessory domed lid. After purchasing it, I found that the lid didn’t fit, it was too large. There must have been a run of smaller pots, and the owners of those pots will not be able to use accessory lids. Attempts at service have gone unanswered.

The graphite grey color from Staub is one that goes well in any kitchen. I use this 5.5qt cocotte almost on a daily basis for a variety of recipes when making food for my boyfriend and I. This provides us with plenty of food for dinner and lots of leftovers.

A must have Staub cast iron size!!!

It is perfect for my small family. It does make a difference food taste wise, efficiency-saves gas and you can serve your delicious dish straight to your table without the need to use another dish. I also bought a staub cast iron trivet to protect my table from direct heat.

Perfect Size Cocotte

This is perfect family size pot. You can get a whole chicken it it for roasting or make a batch of soup with left overs. I fry burgers and steaks in the pot all the time - because of the high walls there is not splattering of grease. The interior black matte finish produces a perfect sear on meats.

great size

I love the size on this dutch oven, for my needs 4 qt is too small and the 7 is for bigger events. this has become a good size for weekly meals with some leftovers for lunches. It has a good height, deep enough that the lid doesn't touch the food so you get good use of those basting spikes.

Perfect for Family Meal

Great size for everything. Braise on nearly 11" bottom, saute and of course stews. has nobs inside lid...a Staub trademark, that keeps moisture where it should be. Colour gradually lightens from top to bottom. Easily cleanable
