I am in love with this. First I did a traditional carrot halwa. Then a chicken and potato soup. Then a spaghetti bolognese. No matter what I cook it’s simply awesome. Most of all, I love the lid.

My favorite pot!

This pot is perfect for so many things but I love to make soup and chili in it. The black interior cleans up so easily. Also the handles are generous and comfortable which is important when handling a heavy and hot pot. Love the color and the enameling stays shiny even after scrubbing baked on spills.

Very Versatile

The Staub 4 quart cocotte oven is a very versatile pot! It is the perfect size to make enough for 2-4 people, and allows me to bake, fry, sear, and braise with perfect even heating throughout. The flattened lid with dimples is great for when I braise anything since it helps baste my food by constantly circulating the steam inside the pot. That’s a very helpful, unique feature that really separates this product from its competitors.

Beautiful Kitchen Workhorse

Staub cocottes are my absolute favorite. As a cook and a baker, I am continually amazed at consistent outcomes in all the various uses. Like all tools, they are designed to assist the user to make your dishes come out the way you hoped for. From the design features such as the dimples on the underside of the lid, which create continual basting while cooking, to the dark porous interior which assists in even browning, sauteing, or frying, you can bake in them too,and easy release! Also easy to clean, even after making jam, which I do use mine for as well. Compatible with all heat sources and can even be taken camping and used in the campfire! So versitile and so beautiful, it goes from oven/stove to table with elegance! A piece that will last and be handed down in your family.

The 4qt round oven is the perfect piece for anyone but especially for those learning to cook with cast iron. The size is ideal for those cooking for 2-4 people and can be used for anything from soups to small batches of meat. The cherry color is bright and so unique, it makes a beautiful statement in the kitchen.
