HP is the only way to go. I have tried other brands of ink and they just don't work.. My suggestion is stay with HP products they do work

The combination pack saves money as compared to purchasing the cartridges separately. Since I use my printer for photos printing as well as text it seems that I go through all the colors and black at the same rate. The cartridges are easy to install. I have tried to used discounted compatible cartridges but these did not work with the HP office-jet pro 8600. I have been waiting for sales from Staples in order to save money on the ink and so I keep one in back up at all times and therefore avoid having to buy them at the last minute at a higher price.

Quality of the color cartridges are excellent but they don't last as long as the black cartridge that I use more frequently. I will purchase the XL color cartridges next time.

Dependable ink

I've given up trying to save a few dollars on other choices. This is clean long-lasting and easy to replace. It just works perhaps because the cartridges are designed to work in my Hewlett Packard printer. No worries about smears or uneven inking. The combo pack also makes it easy to get the correct one for my printer. And the numbering system simplifies that as well. I may have to buy some black-only cartridges because so many of my pages are not color. So it's good that HP offers separate cartridges as well. But until then the combo is a more economical pick. Also I've been told that the high yield is a prudent choice. Pay a little more but get a lot more pages printed. Get a quality paper stock and photos come out great. Even on regular copy pager though the photos are worthy of posting on your refrigerator door.
