I'm not sure exactly what the problem was but the printer message was there is a problem with the ink. After spending a couple of hours trying to determine what was creating this problem in frustration I put the empty cathridge back in and the printer was able to print. After returning and receiving a new Black Ink HP950Xl the printer displayed a message I had not seen " ths ink is fraudlent ". After removing and inserting again the printer finally worked. The Staples Associate was very accommodating and there was no problem making the exchange

This is a great way to buy ink in the combo pack. I love the black xl as it lasts south longer and it's cheaper to buy the multi pack. I always want at least 1 of these on hand.
