Ink has always been disproportionally expensive due to manufacturer's pricing and packaging policies. And more often than not now it seems that the printer refuses to print even if only one cartridge is low. Even if black print is acceptable being unable to print if a color is low is unacceptable. Think ahead and be ready - it may be less expensive overall to buy a single cartridge versus a boxed set.
