these replacements are very expensive and the ink dries up to fast i almost never use color in printing and yet have to replace the color cartridges 2-3 time per year. in theory you can use the printer in black/white only but mine will have annoying your low/out of ink message pop up every time and have to hit ok everytime to print next document very annoying..
