I do very little printing and purchased the HP 7740 largely for the oversized scanning capacity. In that it works very well and was easy to set up. The printing quality seems fine but I haven't used it enough to really give it a fair rating.

Combo packs are the way to go

Combo packs with an XL black and regular color cartridges are so much more economical. They meet our printing needs without a lot of waste. Sale prices are usually good and if you recycle your used cartridges you get even more money off!

The product itself is fine. The problem is it has become so ridiculously expensive that to buy four cartridges cost 2/3 of what the printer cost. We are going to have to change printers.
