I have used Brother HP and Epson. Here is why I urge usage of HP: Unlike the other two if you set HP printers to print on "DRAFT" quality the printing still looks terrific and dark! I hated "Draft" quality on the others but with HP the result if still professional and saves a lot of money (the Epson used ink like crazy!).
Every time I have tired the XL cartilage (this is the 3rd one) the black is dried out and doesn't work. Considering how much ink costs it is so frustrating to have this happen again. I will not be buying the XL again.

Hello there Wendi It is a let-down that all three XL cartridges dried up early. It's not a result we wish for our customers. I am sorry you had to endure the cost of the dry cartridge. You would be surprised how much the temperature and humidity can impact cartridge yields. Avoid making the room too hot or dry. Sometimes dry cartridges are revived by dabbing the printhead with a damp cloth. Remove any dried ink. I would also gently shake the cartridge to see if it is a clog. Buying XL cartridges is a choice. If you prefer you can choose to use the regular-sized cartridges. Amanda HP Care www.hp.com/support/
