The cost of the printer was great. Bought it on sale. However when it came time to purchase new ink it was more than half the cost of the printer!!! Prints fine but read fine print before purchasing a printer so you know cost of replacement ink. Fortunately I don’t print a tremendous amount.
I feel that they run out too fast. I replace them often. It gets costly.

Blindsided on the ink cost

I've had HP printers for 20-30 years. My old HP was very economical. Now they essentially force one to the subscription ink price based on estimated use in copies per month (they say 1/2 regular retail cost). But my use is erratic and rollover of copies per month is limited to 300 copies. So you pay per month even if you do not print. Now during IRS tax time I need copies!! This system is a real gotcha! According to reviews the printer blocks the use of Staples recycled ink. Has anyone figured out a work-around on that?
