the cartridges are never really empty but stop performing well even before that. Some people get theirs refilled. I want to learn more about where to go for that. I spend a lot of money on cartridges and think they are overpriced and don't last very long. And I am conservative about the pages I print.

XL must be for Extra Low ink got hardly any use before printer said low ink!

Hello Greg It is unfortunate you got so little ink out of an XL cartridge. These cartridges are meant to provide significant savings to our customers. Your disappointment is understandable. In the future run printer maintenance and turn off the printer to save ink. To save on color use the grayscale option only. It is always practical to ensure the cartridge is full before printing.
