Neither cartridge had hardly any ink in them to be XL size. Printed less than 100 copies containing both colors. Ran out of black first then colored quickly after.

Hi Cindy One hundred pages for an XL cartridge is atypical. Still results vary by usage. I did notice you mentioned using color ink. If you frequently print assess how much color ink you are using. Photos in particular use a ton of ink. I would adjust your preset printer settings. Decreasing the print quality setting will save you ink. Amanda HP Care www.hp.com/support/

Ink is too expensive without High yield color in package to go along with High yield black. Ink is too expensive period.
