Print quality is good and they're easy to install with no mess. The only con I can think of is that the black cartridge is XL but the color cartridges aren't. I'd prefer to have a multi-pack with all XL cartridges.
I love my wireless printer as does my wife and son. The ink kits are a bit pricey but realtive to buying single cartridges it a good deal. Looks good on plain paper but ink smears on anything that has a coating.
Would you put cheap gas in your hi-performance car? Would you replace your fuel pump with one that's not from the original manufacturer? Neither would I! That's why I use only HP cartridges in my HP printer. I know I can count on the quality. Using HP ink in my HP printers for more than 20 years I have never had a problem and I intend to keep it that way.
I am pleased with the HP Officejet Pro 8600 performance. The paper feed has proven very reliable and the capacity is impressive. I was pleasantly surprised with the number of impressions from the cartridges. Both the black and color copies are very good. The height of the printer is a bit higher than my prior HP printer but acceptable. I have recommended the printer to a colleague and he has had a good experience. His use is more graphic oriented and he had planned to use the printer for "drafts" but finds the quality suitable for client deliverables.
