HP 950XL ink

This ink is fine & seems to last a fair amount of time depending on how much you print. The cartridges are very easy to switch out and they can be shaken to loosen ink allowing additional copies to be made prior to having to change out the cartridge. One thing I do not like about the printer itself is that if you are out of one specific colored ink the printer stops printing not allowing you to print even black copies. Because of this I would suggest keeping a full spare set of each color and black as backup.
Can't believe how long this ink cartridge lasted. I purchased my printer in Dec 2013 and just had to change my ink cartridges last week. My old printer I was lucky if it lasted 2months. I love my new printer.
HP ink is expensive but you cannot beat the quality. Four stars because of quality and lost a star because of the price . I have used generic refills but the results are not as crisp. Set your printer preferences to draft and black only for everyday use to make the ink last longer. You can always reset the printer preference if you want a normal and/or color print. The draft quality with the HP printer looks like a comparable normal quality with other printers. Also you can save more money for use at later time by turning in any ink cartridge for a credit for later use! You are allowed to turn in around ten cartridges per month with this Staples program.
Printer performs quite well and is my only printer in use every day. Many jobs require only black ink so it does bug me that the other ink cartridges have to be installed all the time. Wish I could just install the black cartridge on the all-in-one and use my backup printer for the sometime color printing. Have always stayed with HP printers; they have served me very well for years.
All ink is not equal. HP ink is good quality ink. I would rather buy quality over quantity but price is an important factor. If ink would drop to under $20 a cartrIdge for the XL I would print more at the office and less at the print shop but at the price of cartridges it is worth the trip to the copy center. I would not recommend re-inked cartridges as to some of the problems reported and would only recommend new in the box. I have never had a problem with HP XL cartridges and hope I never have a problem in the future. I would give HP XL 5 stars out of 5 stars.
We have an office of 15 people and we have several printers that use the hp 950 and 951 this product gives great print quality and yield. I would recommend this product to a friend.
