The service at my Mentor Staples is always great (except perhaps for that one cashier but I digress. Staples has a good array of ink and it is well organized. However I think this new HP printer really eats up ink fast and it is VERY expensive. I think it is expensive enough to go explore those third parties that do continious ink systems. When HP drives you away with prices I guess I should do what they are pushing me to do. So if anyone has ideas about continious ink systems that would be good to find out.
As always when I purchase for my company authentic HP cartridges they work without a flaw. I have tried the refill cartridges and off brand cartridges and they both do not work perfectly every time. Consequently I chose to stay with authentic HP cartridges.
How do I extoll the virtues of the High Yield Black Ink Cartridge? I cannot believe how long it lasts. I put it in think it's gone far enough and then I check the balance showing and I can't believe it! It's still only half way to being used. I print a lot of pages every day and am absolutely amazed at how long it lasts. Now the color cartridges are something else. I don't know whether when I use the "black only" it does take some from the color cartridges but I don't use color that much and yet they seem to reduce too fast. But I really love the XL black cartridges!! I would recomment them highly to anyone.
I just bout the HP 8600 less than 2 months ago. So far I'm very pleased with the quality of the printing and the ink. This value pack seems like a good value. The one improvement I would make would be to offer the XL color cartridges with the XL black.
The cartridges are easy to replace and do a nice job of printing both black and white and color. They are a little pricy however. Nice to get some savings for recycling them.
