As always when I purchase for my company authentic HP cartridges they work without a flaw. I have tried the refill cartridges and off brand cartridges and they both do not work perfectly every time. Consequently I chose to stay with authentic HP cartridges.

HP 959XL 951 Combo Pack

I find that when I am looking to purchase ink or toner products it is best for me to wait for Staples offering of their twenty percent off of the original price. I find that when buying these combo packages it is best for me to get the HP ink combination pack that has only one black ink cartridges in the combo pack. For if I were to purchase the HP combo pack that has two black ink cartridges in the combination pack I do not use the second black ink cartridge before I will need to purchase color ink cartridges.

Canon or Staples Ink Cartridges

I've used these both Canon and Staples recycled cartridges for this printer ever since I bought it. They both work well and I hope that they help to prolong the life of this workhorse!
