We have tried other cartridges and found them to be inferior to those from HP which also proves trying inexpensive is not always better. The cheaper cartridges colors were awful. The red one started out RED but about 1/2 way through the color changed to a shade of brown! In the end you spend more replacing a cartridge way before it's necessary.
