This is a great package deal. I used to buy all the individual cartridges 950 and 951 in only the XL size because I did soon much printing for business and for my community. Since retiring I was considering going to the separate cartridges in the small size packages and found this combination package. I had an old printer that I donated to the community office with a new set of the XL cartridges so I do the community printing there rather than at home so my printing at home is just that for home. This package is great for that type of printing and it saves me money.

You would expect this to work well with all the colors together. It seems as though the black runs out about the time that the colors run out. So until they go out of sync I will continue to buy this combination. I tried to refill them but they just don't last as long...and the mess don't mention the mess. No just grit your teeth buy the ink take advantage of the sales and enjoy the effortless paper inking both in black and in color. Besides if you buy it as 4 cartridges you can return 4 cartridges! You get credit for all 4 of 'em.
