Does the number of pages it claims (based on the 5% standard for coverage) lasts me about 7 months on the black and near 1 year on the colour

I have a HP 8600 printer that has worked for years with zero problems. Problem is I have watched the price for the ink increase in the past few years. In the future all supplies will not be from Staples. Just too expensive! Do not believe the once in a "blue moon" coupon for a small discount really saves any money.
