Ink prices are astronomical. Outrageous. Criminal. And I've had more than one experience where the cartridges were half-empty OR were expired when I purchased them OR were not recognized as "genuine HP cartridges" when I installed them. That being said I have no choice if I want to print so... Like I said in the title printer ink is a RACKET!!
I tried using off-brand inks it was a mistake! Once I went back to using Hp ink there were no more different shades of ink. No more leaks just clear perfect color and printed copy’
Possibly defective? Has required multiple print head cleanings.

Hi James I am very sorry that your cartridges did not work well. That was unfortunate. With your type of printer problems with the print quality are usually the fault of a clogged up printhead. It is important to either: - leave the machine on so that the maintenance routines keep the clogs away - if you turn it off be sure to use the printer's power button so the printer has time to move into a position that protects the printhead from developing dried ink clogs. You can contact the seller when the merchandise you bought from them is faulty. Here is a link to the return policy: returnsandrefunds.com/Staples/Returns Mary Chris HP Care hp.com/support

When my printer alerted me that I needed to replace my ink cartridges I inserted cartridges that I had purchased along with the printer about 2 years ago. I noticed on the unopened cartridge box "warranty expires Sept. 2020". When I inserted them the print did not work. I then came to Staples and purchased new cartridges that are marked "warranty expires Sept. 2022". When I inserted them the printer worked fine. My complaint is not with Staples but with HP. What a ripoff.
