Not just telling time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been an avid watch user since the beginning of the watch availability from samsung. I've had almost every iteration of the watch starting with one , then two lte, then four, then 5 classic, then 7 ultra lte and now the eight classic...
I will honestly say the battery life is better on the seven Ultra than it is on the eight classic and that's even minus the LTE availability on the watch 8 classic. As for the functionality of the watch itself, I'm hooked. I love the convenience of all the health features and the convenience of being able to pay with my watch when necessary. I do wish the battery would last a little longer, but that is an ongoing issue with every model of the watch that I've owned with the exception of the seven Ultra. The improved features on the eight are wonderful, but maybe I should have waited for the nine, however, since I love the bezel on the classic I don't think the nine would have helped me. I guess time will tell.

Hello there Buyerbeware, Thanks for reaching out to share your sentiments with us about your experience using the Samsung Galaxy Ring. We understand that you may feel frustrated with your experience with your battery life on your Galaxy Ring. Samsung provides a 12-month warranty on your device for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. We also offer Samsung Care+ which is similar to an extended warranty and an insurance package combined. It can provide protection beyond the standard manufacturer's warranty. It could cover events like accidental damage, mechanical breakdowns, and potentially theft and loss. Samsung Care+ truly offers you the ultimate peace of mind when it comes to protecting your investment. Our partners at UbreakIfix are also available to assist you with any repair needs you may have. On a single charge, the Galaxy Ring can last up to 7 days, depending on usage. Battery life may be extended by up to 30% if worn alongside a Galaxy Watch, as this helps reduce redundant feature usage. For optimal battery performance, it's recommended to store the Ring in its charging case when not in use. If left outside the case, the Ring's sensors will remain active, resulting in unnecessary battery consumption. Battery life for your Galaxy Ring can vary depending on environmental factors like temperature, network environment, and signal strength can all affect battery life. Also, usage patterns: frequent use of features like sleep tracking, work auto detection, and gesture controls can impact how long the battery lasts. Please feel free to reach out to Samsung Support at one of the channels shared below if you would like further assistance after reviewing the resources provided. Thank you for being a steadfast Samsung customer. - Debra

Disappointing Longevity and Battery Failure
on March 31, 2026

While the Galaxy Ring is a neat concept when it’s actually functioning, the long-term ownership experience has been incredibly frustrating. I’ve gone through two of these now, and the hardware simply doesn’t seem built to last. The Issues: Poor Battery Lifespan: My biggest grievance is the battery reliability. My first ring failed within the first year. The replacement fared even worse, failing almost exactly one month after the warranty expired. It seems there is a consistent issue where the battery gives out around the 15-month mark—a sentiment I’ve seen echoed in numerous forums and user complaints. Build Quality: For the price point, the ring feels surprisingly cheap. The initial "cool factor" of the data wears off quickly, and after about three months, I found myself stopped checking the app entirely because the insights didn't feel worth the hassle. Value for Money: Between the hardware failing twice and the lackluster build, I cannot recommend this. It feels like an expensive prototype rather than a polished, durable wearable. Bottom Line: Unless you’re comfortable replacing your tech every year, I’d suggest looking elsewhere. The battery issues alone make this a poor investment.

Dead after 370 days

The ring is now useless, except as a piece of jewelry. I owned an Oura ring prior to this and the only reason that I traded it in for this one was I believed it was going to be a quality Item as other Samsung products are. However, that is not the case with this ring. Tracking was never as good as my watch, the battery gave out exactly 370 days of wearing it. If you are serious about tracking your health, this isn't for you. I am going back to Oura. FYI, I am a loyal Samsung customer who always has to have the latest and greatest. I should have waited to buy until they tested it more.

suffeRING dies after warranty

My ring suddenly died right after the warranty expired. Tons of users are complaining about the exact same issu, these rings seem to fail quickly once the guarantee ends. Repair costs are iffy at best and ridiculously expensive. Not a happy camper at all.

Great Product, but a Huge Flaw

I am really invested in the Samsung ecosystem, and I truly love their products, from the Fold to the Watch Classic 6 and the earbuds. During the first year with the ring, it worked perfectly! The battery was incredible, the feel of the ring felt amazing, and it was just slightly bulkier than a traditional ring. I love the materials Samsung used; the titanium finish felt great and light. On top of that, it was extremely accurate at reading my sleep and exercises.
However, after a year and a half of use, the Samsung Ring is not what it used to be. What used to be about 1.5 weeks of no charge became two or maybe three days, if lucky, with a full charge. The case for the ring presented the same problem. It got so bad that now I can't even put on the ring because the battery depletes immediately and it won't connect with the phone. I can only connect it when it's attached to the case. I tried doing a diagnostic test, and it can't even complete the diagnosis.
I talked to a couple of people who bought the ring, and some of them started to present the same problem I did.
It became unusable after a year and a half. The warranty only lasts for a year, which is truly heartbreaking because I really loved the ring. I feel like it's a waste of money if it's only going to last for less than two years. Hopefully, Samsung makes the next version better.
