Just attended an Anita Goodesign event in Knoxville, TN. This machine was brought in for a test drive. I sewed on it all day. It is so easy to use, is a great size, and a reasonable price! This is the only Brother that comes with a hat frame. This allows you to embroidery so much more than you can on your flatbed home embroidery machine. And, yes, I purchased it on the spot. This is just perfect for me since I make all of my gifts. Just a whole new world in embroidery for the home embroiderer. Definitely recommend adding this to your wish list. Christmas is just around the corner.

I have sewn on brother products for about 40 years now--and I purchased my first embroidery maching (PE770)) about 6 years ago. I use my machines daily and was was planing to update to the DreamMaker. BUT the minute I received the e-mail about the new free arm PRS100 -----I purchased immediately. I am still sewing daily--but with the SPM on this machine I can accomplish many more projects in less time. Of course with the larger hoop sized--I can now stitch larger items which make me extremely happy. I have been very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this machine to anyone looking for an embroidery machine. I did pass my PE770 down to my sister. She now has the embroidery bug and is starting to ask me questions about the PE100 (she will pass the PE770 down to my granddaughter as want to keep it in the family).

This is a good machine for doing the small projects and tight fitting items like gloves, socks. But it did come with the Hat hoop so that is a plus. The 2 only parts I do not like is the threading in the front of the machine is a dark blue and it is hard to see the hole for threading and secondly the hat placement the LED light goes away.

I love my PRS100 I’m still learning things about it but I have already embroidered more in the 3 months that I have had the machine than I did the machine I had for 2 years!! It’s so much easier doing the smaller items than my other machine.

Good but not great for me

This machine does a great stitch out. I have several other Brother embroidery machines, so I know the basics of this machine. Things I don’t like: If you have to thread it manually, there is no slip in options. You have to line up the thread with holes. Hole number 6 is particularly difficult as it generates a lot of static causing the thread to stick to the side of the machine. Also, that area is in a DARK blue and seeing dark threads are difficult. Limited to an 8x8 hoop. I also have the VE2200 and love the 7x12 frame. Auto needle threader. Within the first 3 weeks, I broke it. This was caused by it getting caught on (almost every time I hooped) by the nappy towels I was doing for Christmas gifts. The weight of the machine (close to 70lbs), requires (at least for me) 2 people to lift it. The thought of carrying this back upstairs to take it to the dealer for repairs or service is very daunting. So consequently I haven’t taken it in to have the threader fixed. The cost. If I wasn’t so intimidated by it, I should have gone for the 6 needles. It wasn’t much more. Things I do like: It’s fast The ability to do onesies

The reason I bought the PRS100, I wanted to be able to embroider on caps, baskets, shoes, etc. It is easy to use just like all of the other brother embroidery machines. It is fun, fun, fun and I would recommend this machine to anyone who is just wanting a machine for personal use. I don't have a business, but enjoy embroidering gifts, for friends and family.

Nice Machine

I bought this machine primarily to embroider clothes for my grandchildren. I picked this machine over a 6 or 10 needle because it would do Disney designs. I am disappointed however that I am not able to use my Disney cards that I have purchased over the years. I do not want to buy the designs again in Ibroidery. Also the dark bloue background behind the thread hole makes it difficult when threading dark colored threads. I have to use a flashlight for additional light.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I luv this machine. Simple to use and stitches very smoothly. My 18 yr old daughter has taken it over. She loves the simplicity of it compared to a home embroidery/sewing machine. We are working on a project together.
