This Automatic Litter Box is very easy to use. It worked great when we travelled for 7 days and left cat at home. The mobile app is also easy to operate. The only thing not very convenience is the litter collect tray is in the back. If you put this littler box against the wall, you need to move it to clean the litter collect tray every time.

I absolutely love this. I have 2 cats, 1 Chunky boy and a smaller one. I set it up and that day they used it. * I did use a old trick of letting their old box get dirty, to entice them to the new one *I only have 2 minor complaints. The app. I can't get it to work it needs 2.4 wifi and I have 5. I am not technology inclide to figure that out, so so far no app, and I'll add most high speed internet these days is 5, so as much as the app would be handy, especially for people like myself with poor memory, I wouldn't pay for it.The other thing, going back to my bad memory here, the disposal tray. For one cat, prob have to empty every other day or so. With two cats, better check everyday.Regardless, a good purchase!

Ok, even though there are a few drawbacks, I still give this 5 stars, and here's why:1. It allows you to use (almost) any kind of litter you want without voiding the warranty. One of the things I disliked most about a lot of other self-cleaning litter boxes is that they require you to use their own brand of litter. I prefer the natural clumping litters like corn/cassava or grass seed. Other litters really irritate my sinuses, and are truly a non-negotiable for me.With this one, as long as it's clumping, it's good to go.2. While it's fairly expensive, it's far more affordable than a Litter Robot. And since it came with a 1 year warrantee, I felt safe at least trying it out. It was definitely an investment, but worth it.3. I love the UV light cleaning function in addition to the scooping. I do feel that the litter box is overall less stinky than a standard litter box is, and considering I'm using the same litter and have the same cats, I'm attributing it to that.I don't understand how, because it's not vacuum sealed or anything like my other waste bin I use for the regular litter boxes, but somehow the waste receptacle doesn't smell either. Obviously it does when I open it every couple of days to dispose of the waste, but when it's closed I don't smell it. I have no idea how that works, but I'll take it!4. Super easy to set up and troubleshoot. The app is great and allows you to see how often it has been used, if it's low on litter etc. To be honest, I don't use the app a ton because it kinda just runs smoothly on its own and I don't feel the need to check on it much. But I like that it's there, and I have a feeling it will come in handy when I'm traveling and want to check in.The buttons and functions seem rather intuitive. Press the power button quickly to manually run the litter box. Press and hold to turn it off. Press again to turn back on. I can't say I've used the sleep or timer functions at all. I just let it automatically do its thing. You can turn the light on and off with the press of a button too, though I just leave it off.5. Safe for the cats and they took to it quickly. It has sensors so it knows when a cat is in there and once they leave it closes the little hatch and does its thing. I remember reading that you could mess with the settings to give it more time after they go before it closes up, but I haven't had an issue with the factory settings, so I've never tried it.I obviously left my other litter boxes out while they were testing the waters, and some took a little longer to explore it than others, but overall it didn't take long before they all were using it.It's also a nice large size, which is great so they don't feel cramped in there - even my biggest boy who is about 15 pounds uses it with no issue.6. Litter trap step works great and is also easy to remove for cleaning.Ok, so to the drawbacks:1. Once the whole thing is set up, it's not the easiest thing to clean. I know it has UV and all of that, but obviously you still have to fully empty it out every couple weeks at least, and that can be kind of a pain. It's heavy, so not easy to tip over and dump out the old litter before you put in the new. Not to mention you can't take the top off for easy access to wipe it down either. Maybe I'm missing something and it's easier than I've made it out to be.I end up using my vacuum to suck up any of the old litter, then I have to strain my arm to get all around the inside with my cleaning rag. Same with the flap that separates the box itself from the waste receptacle in the back - it gets grimy, as you would expect, and it's not super easy to reach and clean. Not impossible, just not super easy since you only have the one access point via the front hatch. So there is a little more elbow grease involved with the in between cleanings, with the trade off being that you don't have to remember to scoop.2. There are foam pieces they have you insert to close the gaps between a couple of pieces of the litter box. This is mostly fine, but I feel like over time I'm going to want to replace these as it feels a bit unsanitary. I'm not sure if this is a spare part that can be ordered, but I already have a plan to remove the existing ones, then trace the shape to create new ones out of thick craft foam.3. The litter bags provided are an annoying shape to fit the size of the waste receptacle, which means you have to use the brand's litter bags. I haven't had to buy more yet, but I always hate when you are required to used brand specific items because then you're at the mercy of them restocking, shipping etc. Not to mention the shape is very strange when you're trying to tie it up and dispose of it. I've taken to dumping the whole bag directly into my other smell-sealing bin that I used when I scoop the other litter boxes. They also don't fit tightly around the bin, so at first the bag was always getting messed up and I would have half the waste in the bag and half out in the bare bin, which obviously defeats the purpose.I have since been scotch taping the bag to the sides, making a little easy to remove tab, and it has been working fine since then. I don't love having to take that extra step though. Seems like it could be solved with a bag redesign at some point in the future.4. Rather large, and not a great fit for all spaces. I knew this going into purchasing an automatic litter box, pretty much any one you pick is a small space ship. But its weight and size (and the fact that it needs a power source) definitely mean you have to do some thinking about where to set it up. Especially because the litter trapping step protrudes from the front, and it's not an optional add-on, the litter box literally won't function unless it is installed properly. If you are used to having your litter box in the bathroom, this one probably isn't for you, at least I don't see how it would fit in most standard bathrooms.Overall, despite its drawbacks, I still highly recommend this litter box, especially if you are sensitive/allergic to standard commercial litters but still want to try out automation. With small workarounds, it is still very much worth it!
