Broken plastic lid hook

I like this trash bin because its the perfect size and fits in narrow spaces but the plastic hook to close the lid breaks after a week or so. I’m trying to find a REPLACEMENT but I can’t find it. I would hate to get another plastic container for that reason.

Latch doesn't last

As with many other reviews, the lid latch breaks quickly/easily - looks to be a poor design - rending the trash can an "always open" thing. Wish they would sell the latch separately so it could be replaced.

Disappointed

I loved this trash can when I first got it a couple of weeks ago. However, after the first week the lid will no longer pop up when I push the button and it won’t close all the way. I took a look at the lid and can’t figure out what’s going on with it. It was very expensive from the location I purchased it from and now that it’s used they won’t take it back.

Not Sturdy - Lid Breaks

I want to love this bin. It is the perfect size, and we love the self-opening lid. Unfortunately, the lid is not sturdy. They lids keep cracking. We have gone through 4 lids in 7 months.

bad product

This product looked good so I purchased it. I had it for a short period of time and the latch broke. I tried to contact Sterilite on line and their site went into error every time I tried to contact them and I could not get anything done. If this is the kind of service you get from this company then I don't want to do any more business with them. The product should last longer than it did. You don't need a picture to show a broken latch. It just broke off.

Lid locking mechanism is not durable

I bought this several years ago for cat food storage but almost immediately the gray lid release broke. I continued to use this by placing a heavy object on the lid since I don’t access it that much, however, that defeats the purpose of having a locking lid.

If it'd worked would be great

I bought this wastebasket about a year ago and worked great. However about 6 months ago the lid will not stay close. I don't want to buy a new lid if there is a way to fix this.
