Works OK but WAY overpriced

Decent enough for a slim charging pad, yet it's rather overpriced and of poor value.
Charging speeds are pretty lackluster, especially for this price range of a premium charging accessory. This includes when using the official Apple 20-watt iPhone charger brick. The phone also often gets hot really quickly.
The cable with the pad is also way too short and of poor quality. Would expect a longer, braided cable for the price of such a "premium" charging accessory. Not worth any more than $40 max (taxes included), in my opinion. Apple really needs to rethink this charging accessory, as the MagSafe pad feels dated and overpriced.

Magsafe for the 12

The Magsafe does not stick too well on the 8, SE, XS, XS max, X models. I am sure it is the same for the rest of Apple's compatibility list of devices. It can charge your Qi device but it cannot stick to it like the iPhone 12 series. Your device must lay on it in order to charge. This thing weighs about 45 grams. It is 25% of the weight of most of the iPhones. Works great with other brands of USB-C charging bricks.

A charger you can't charge with

Pretty bad when you order a charger and you still can't charge with it. Sorry Apple that is just being cheap. You are ripping people off. Still got to go buy a wall charger for this wireless charger.

Expensive, integrated cable is a problem
on November 12, 2020

By putting an integrated cable with a cheap housing and poor cable strain reliefs much like previous Apple branded cords, it all but ensures that this device cannot last particularly because the nature of the magsafe is that you need to handle it and move it (thus exercising the cable strain reliefs) compared to a static charging pad with no magnet that just stays put and doesn't induce any cable movement. A design with a plug-in cable would be much better because it means you can use a single cable to connect the charger instead of the tiny provided cable and a USB-C extension cable, and also would allow you to simply replace cables as they wear out rather than pay $55+tax for a whole new MagSafe charger. That people will tend to continue to use it once the cable deteriorates in order to save money also means that far from being safe, it may become a fire hazard. I would only recommend this if you have the means to replace them regularly as soon as you see signs of cable deterioration near the strain reliefs.

Damages my case
on January 29, 2021

I know even Apple is making this claim and they are right. After only one night I could see the beginning of a ring being etched some how, into the back of my costly Apple leather case on my 12 Pro. Not good at all. One night! What would it look like after a month. Not a chance, it’s going back. And the other thing which should have been obvious to me is that using this makes the whole experience NON wireless again. Pull the magnet off my phone or pull the cable out of the lightning port, the very same thing to me. No, I want to place my phone on a pad and pick it up with one hand when I need it. Simple. Going back to my Mophie Wireless charger. True wireless freedom. To clarify the ratings: Quality - Poor, because it damages my case. Value - Poor, can’t be of value when it damages the mating surface (What is Apple thinking?) Ease of Use - Poor, no different than unplugging a lightning cable.

Great Product ( IF YOU HAVE A IPHONE 12)

Most of these negative comments are due to the fact they have an old apple product if you have the latest iPhone (12 -12 pro Max) these new phones have a magnet on the back built in, So when you use this product It sticks well and can be used while charging with it , great product and doesn’t take up room in the lighting port ! Only buy if you have a iPhone 12 and up !!!
