Love the weight on this cleaver. The curved edge gives you great precision, cutting straight though while letting the weight do most of the work. Has great edge retention!

Handles the big cutting tasks

This cleaver easily goes through different cuts of meat including bone in pieces. The curved bolster allows you to use a comfortable pinch grip up high on the handle/bolster which keeps big cutting jobs safer since the knife becomes an extension of your arm.

solid cleaver

I'm writing this review after watching my husband go to town on the ribs he wanted to smoke. It scared me a bit but he had always wanted a meat cleaver so this is the one that was recommended. First of all... IT IS HEAVY, but I think that's the point, it has cut thru chicken bones like they were styrofoam, and judging by the smile on his face did some serious work on those rib bones. The Zwilling Pro knives have always been the best , this has now been added to the collection!

So easy

The ease of use for this meat cleaver is unworldly. It makes the job that was once tedious and sometimes difficult, to an activity that is fun, quick, and easy. The handle is super comfortable and the knife itself it perfectly balanced because of the full tang.

Super Underrated Knife

I don't know how I used to break down a chicken before I had this knife! It is nicely weighted and is so sharp that it will go right through bone. I love using this when I am making ribs as well! The handle is so comfortable and I am able to grip it well so that I feel very secure using this knife.

Great Handle

This cleaver is perfect at what it does. It has enough weight to easily go through harder items, and the curved bolster really gives you complete control over the blade. The steel is forged and tempered, so you know that it will maintain and edge throughout its use. The handle is very comfortable, and almost seamless between the tang and rivets.

not to big but gets the job done

A cleaver dosen't have to be huge to get the job done. THis one is the perfect size. I feel fully in control of the blade at all times . It makes quick work of spatchcocking a chicken for the grill. The solid German construction and forged German steel give me confidence as I go through bone.
