Finally got the chance to set up this home theatre system after buying it on boxing day, I took my time and readup & watched you tube videos beforehand. I took almost no time at all really to unbox and make the connections. Download of the smart things app is a must, i have a xfinty cable box, and roku box connected, tv is connected via the earc to the bar as well. You have make certain setting changes on you tv to get it all to work. Once i got it figured out, i set up the speaker settings via smartthings app to my liking. Put on Lord of the rings return of the king big battle scene. WOW! blown away by the sound and immersiveness of it. Made me feel like i was there in the middle of the battle. This blows away the Bose sytem i had, and glad i purchased it. The only bothersomecthing, you have to use the app to chage inputs as they don't show up on the tv source menu, i hsd to go into the app to switch between my Roku box and xfinity cable box, took a bit to figure that out. All in all, i would recommend this product, now if it only had acradio tuner and one moe hdmi input, it would be perfect,

excellent sound. Watched Jurassic park and it was very immersive, sounded like a critter was going to jump out at you from behind. Very cool. Even at low levels, bass moves through the room at a nice rumble. Expensive, but SO worth it.

Q990d vs 5.1 with Towers

Did a lot of research til my head was spinning in circles. I was deciding between a 5.1 with wired speakers and towers or a higher end soundbar. I didn't feel like running wires, I didn't wanna take up more space. I mounted the q990d under my tv and wall mounted the rears. And it is perfect for hooking up my pc and a console with 2x hdmi 120hz pass thru. And it booms when you wanna listen to music with the 8" sub. Ultra HD movies with atmos are amazing on this system. Also i paired it with a sony x95k oled tv. It works perfect with OSD. Overall, Huge upgrade over the hw-s800b I have for my wife's tv upstairs. You won't be disappointed with this beast!

Samsung downloaded a firmware update that killed mine and many others!! Their inability to provide a fix is unacceptable!! Also, their QSymphony feature never did work with their top of line Oled TV Save your money and buy the JBL 1000
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I absolutely love this sound system. The audio clarity is incredible, I can literally hear every detail in the music, movies, and shows I play. It truly shines during movies and TV shows, delivering a cinematic surround sound experience that makes everything more immersive and enjoyable.
That said, I’ve had some trouble with the “S-Mute” message constantly appearing on the soundbar. I contacted Samsung support, they performed a hard reset and even sent me a new HDMI cable, but the issue still wasn’t resolved. Both the TV and soundbar have the latest firmware/software updates installed, so that’s not the problem. From what I’ve gathered, this seems to be a common HDMI handshake issue between Samsung TVs and soundbars. For reference, my TV is the 2024 Samsung Q70D.
Right now, I’m using the soundbar via Wi-Fi instead of Q-Symphony. From my research, I discovered that the Zeskit Maya Ultra High-Speed HDMI cable might resolve the handshake issue. I’ll be trying it out soon in hopes of finally enjoying Q-Symphony as intended. If anyone knows of a better HDMI cable for this problem, I’m open to suggestions.
All in all, I’m very satisfied with the sound system, and honestly, I’m not swayed by the Q990F, this one hits the mark for me.
