Do not use with a P16

The website has this listed as compatible. Bought one with the laptop. It is nothing more than a simple port replicator requiring a separate power supply to charge the laptop. It is not a true docking station
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lenovo docks go bad at 90 days - Thermal Issues

After about 90 days of use, the Lenovo USB-C docks go bad. They overheat, ports stop working, and Lenovo will not replace them after 30 days. We have switched to HP or Plugable docks (depending on office location) and have not only saved money but now have docks that will last longer than a calendar quarter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I worked directly with Lenovo to order a docking station that was compatible with my laptop. I wanted only two features; 1) I wanted to have a dual monitor display and 2) I wanted the docking station to charge my laptop. The docking station comes with only a quick start guide which doesn't explain much of anything. I was able to figure out (with the right mix of cords) how to get both of my monitors to work but I also have to keep the laptop open. When I shut the laptop, both monitors shut off. That's not at all what I want. I've tried connecting the docking station to every port on my computer and it does not charge the computer. I still have to run a separate power cord to the laptop. I paid a lot of money for something that doesn't do what I wanted it to.

This Dock runs extremely HOT! It is only a matter of time before the unit fails. Also, the unit does not recover well from power outages; connected workstation needs to have power recycled repeatedly. Would not recommend this unit.
