[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 2 months ago but only discovered after trying to troubleshoot that there is no solution for the message I keep getting: "The connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter which was shipped with the system. To use AC power, please connect the AC adapter which was shipped with the system. Press the ESC key to continue." At the time of the purchase, I was assured that this dock was compatible with my Thinkpad P1 Gen5. And then when I spoke with a tech support person, I was assured that these two products were compatible. I see online now that there's a dock that is named "workstation" after the return window has passed. I had many problems in the past with Lenovo, but decided to give it another chance. But never again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor purchase eperience

Lenovo really doesn't care about my experience as a customer. They require a signature for their laptop dock, which is a relatively cheap item. Who would wait at home for that? Their courier "missed" me and now I have to deal with all the hassle of pick it up from somewhere, while the when would the item arrive at that "somewhere" is completely unknown... What are poor experience! Lenovo really doesn't care, because they "moderated" (censored) my first post here about it, citing their "policy." I guess their policy isn't for the purpose of better serving their customers? Now for giving this review, Lenovo also requires me to tell them how old I am?! OMG!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Resolved a lot of issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano from my new employer and was surprised to discover only two thunderbolt ports. I knew immediately I would need a docking station.
I received the Universal Thunderbolt 4 Smart Dock a couple of days later and it has resolved a lot of issues I was facing that came from only having two thunderbolt ports.
Like with any docking station, there will be computer adjustments ie: screen flicker, audio quality inconsistencies, software installs, and software upgrades. You may need to unplug and re-plug certain cabling like, HDMI and/or DP, to rectify any visual/audio defects. I had to and it was no big deal, but is the reason for the 4/5 stars.
I have plugged into docking station:
2 - External monitors ( USB-C and Display port ) with one monitor running at 4K.
1 - USB Keyboard
1 - USB Bluetooth mouse
1 - Ethernet cable
1 - USB Microphone
1 - USB Webcam
With ports remaining!
As long as users are keeping up to date with necessary drivers and other software, then you should have a positive experience with it. Just keep in mind that docking stations are great mobile devices, however, operate best if fixated on your workstation for extended periods of time. Unplugging and re-plugging cables can wear on the ports and that could diminish the quality of your experience.

Paper Weight- AVOID

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is a paper weight. My company has tried several of these and none of them work correctly. All of them had no ethernet connectivity and several never connected to second monitors. It is a huge headaache deploying these docking stations. i would avoid them at all cost.
