[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung QN80A QLED is an excellent TV. It's Samsung's flagship 4k TV in their new Neo QLED lineup, which is an upgrade from their traditional QLED lineup because it uses Mini LED as its backlighting. This allows the TV to get extremely bright, enough to combat glare or bring out highlights in HDR content, and it provides more control over its full-array local dimming feature. The local dimming does a great job at improving the picture quality, but you may notice there's some blooming around bright objects. It's packed with gaming features like FreeSync variable refresh rate support (VRR) and G-SYNC compatibility. It also has HDMI 2.1 support, but some people may be disappointed that it's limited to one input. Despite having a VA panel, it has fairly wide viewing angles thanks to Samsung's 'Ultra Viewing Angle' technology, so it should be a good choice for fairly Any user particular taste

New Technology = Lesser Quality

i previously owned a samsung un f8000 75" and it was, hands down, the best picture i've ever seen - better than any theater, including 3d and imax. when people walked into my house, their reaction was "wow! that tv picture’s amazing!" the main technological difference between that model and current models is the motion rate (mr). the un series had a mr of 1200. the highest mr in current models is 240. when my un model died, i was heartbroken. after months of research, i purchased the qled 80 series. what a let down!! it's like going back to the old console tvs my parents had. this picture, despite the "updated" technology, doesn't even begin to compare to the previous model. my advice to samsung: concentrate your r&d efforts back on the mr and all other things will fall into place.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi ShopDivaATL,
Thank you for choosing Samsung's Q80A TV and for your review. We appreciate your thoughts on this model when compared to your previous TV.
Although the 2013 F8000 TV's motion features were formerly named Clear Motion Rate, this model, as well as the 2021 Q80A, both feature 120Hz Refresh Rates.

No "multiview" for pre-installed apps.
on November 11, 2021
Posted by: luis
bought 2 of these tv's for multi-view function and it's "endless possibilities for splitting screens and viewing several types of content at the same time"- samsung. the only thing you can do is screen mirror a samsung phone on the right and on the left you can watch air tv, cable, samsung tv, or hdmi input. none of the pre-installed apps (disney, hulu, prime or netflix) work on multiview. youtube semi works but you need to exit split screen to search content then go back into multiview. samsung need to create a software update for this issue. picture, sound, and design are good but seriously disappointed at the multiview function. as there are cheaper alternatives ie. tu7000.

Hi luis,
Thank you for your review of Samsung's Q60A TV and for sharing your feedback regarding Multi View. This feature allows you to display two things at once on your TV. For example, you can view media from different sources, such as a compatible app, Blu-ray player, or game console, on the main left screen, while also mirroring your phone to the smaller screen. Only 1 HDMI-connected device can be used at a time. For example, on the left screen: You can play an app (Samsung TV Plus, YouTube, or YouTube TV), HDMI devices, Antenna or Cable, or USB devices. On the right screen: You can screen mirror, use AirPlay, cast from an app, or cast from an IoT camera.
Should you ever have questions or need help, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

"multiview feature"
on November 12, 2021

other than these apps: (samsung tv plus, youtube, or youtube tv). can you provide a list of apps that are compatible with "multiview feature"? i think that most consumers would agree that this "multiview feature" should be compatible with todays most popular apps such as disney, hulu, prime, netflix's, hbo max etc... additionally, i want to point out that these apps are already pre-installed in the tv which i see as even more reason as to which these apps should be compatible with this "multiview feature". samsung should have tested the functionality of this "feature" prior to selling it to us. what is needed here is a answer in form of a firmware update to allow these popular pre-installed apps to be compatible with "multiview feature"
