Very good, measurement error

I've been using my 1 L pot for about a week now, and it works as described. It heats water faster than microwaving it in a measuring pitcher. I was confused early on, though, when I needed 4 cups of hot water. I filled the pot to the 4 cup line, but it turned out to be not enough water by a far stretch. Upon closer inspection, I see that the cup measurement lines are 4, 6, 8 (max). The 8 c max line is aligned with the 1 L max line. There are only 4 cups to a quart/liter, not 8. So, now I have to remember to fill the pot with "twice" the amount of water if I'm using the cup measurement lines as a guide.

I purchased this kettle for my daughter after owning the 1.5L for a couple of years of very satisfying service. This smaller version, while having fewer features, namely temp control, still achieves the rapid boil and has a sleeker cleaner look than most other kettles available here in the US. I wish it was easier to open, which one must do to pour out water--the button to raise the lid takes a surprising amount of leverage, and would probably be difficult for an older user. And if a 1L kettle with temp control were available, I'd have sprung for that.
