would not buy canon again

there are so many things wrong with this printer. couldn't get it working when purchased it so called their support. paid over 300$ for them to get it working. ink does not last and is almost as much as the printer. takes forever to start printing and sometimes doesn't print at all for no apparent reason unless you turn off and restart but then takes a while to warm up again...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the worst device I ever bought. Like another reviewer, it would connect so I called the help line. Cost me $300+ to get it working.
Trying to scan is impossible: the manuals and tutor videos are useless and don't even reflect reality.
Should have stayed with BROTHER!

Bought this printer to replace an old Canon MX492 that we love, but Canon bricked with their firmware (thanks again Canon). Still, it was a solid printer so bought this as it was a close replacement. We kept having issues where the printer defaulted to draft printing and colors would be super muted but eventually worked it out. Print quality is actually very good. One of the main reasons we bought this model was for the automatic document feeder from the MX492, just load a document on the top, it grabs it page by page and scans the whole thing, love it! This feature does not work in the Tr7020a. Scanning through the app is useless, always gives an error after page 2. Moved on to scanning from a Pc and the document feeder either doesn't grab the pages or grabs 3-4 at the same time. I took the same document and it scanned perfectly in another scanner.

This is by far the worst printer I have ever owned. Doesn't work most of the time. Takes foooooreeeeeveeeer to start printing. Stops printing in the middle of page for no reason and just splurts the page half printed minutes or even hours later. This is my second Canon printer, the first wasn't perfect by was still way better than this one. This one is so bad that when the original ink cartridge that came with it dies, I'll buy a new one. And not a Canon this time.

Its a satisfactory printer for usage with an old computer. Easily installed. Ink not very brilliant colours.

Worst Printer I've Ever Owned

This is the worst printer / scanner I have ever owned. It is slow, clunky, the ADF is horrific, the scanner program is much worse to work with than HP's, the printer WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO REPLACE ONLY BLACK ink. It simply will not work unless you install a colour cartridge as well. This is criminal on Canon's behalf.
