E340 Video Doorbell

This is my second purchase of the E340 to add to a second home. Eufy option to stand alone or purchase a subscription service is why I like Eufy products. The Eufy E340 is a quality product and I use it with the Eufy HomeBase 3801 which allows facial recognition. The system is easy to install and training the facial recognition is also easy.

Great except when it's cold outside

At one Celsius the camera fogs up and there's not a clear view 🤷🏽♂️. Otherwise pretty dam good..

Battery life

So far it's a okay door bell camera, We had the ring one before and the quality is much better on the ring. I would NOT recommend the battery version on the EUFY. the battery is trash

Great doorbell...BUT.

Most current update : Battery life suck!.....(just saying) Had to pull out the battery to recharge every month, regardless of settings. (BUT) I still like this doorbell.
Original review: Eufy's latest doorbell. It looks great, nice and sleek, and sturdy, and very well put together. Also great for the price. Charging the battery unit was not a big deal. Setup was easy. Wifi connection was quick. Apps navigation was also easy.
The Cons: IMO, was (1). Battery life. After one week of using it. The life percentage dropped by more than 10%-15% with what I believed an average motion detections. (2). Night lights on the bottom and top cannot be turn off, without turning off the night vision option. It is not "On" all the time but only comes on when motion is detected and only at night with night vision option selected. Would be nice if "OFF/ ON" option is allow when night vision is turn on without interfering with the night vision ability. It is annoying when the lights come on when motion is detected. (3) Most importantly, the doorbell chime. The chime from the device can only he heard only from outside on the device itself. You cannot hear the chime when you're indoor if and when someone rang the doorbell. Existing indoor chime would need an upgrade on to increase voltage capacity, only if you know how to DIY. So you do need an add-on Chime device. Eufy should have included one without additional purchase or add-on purchase. I gave it 3 stars because of these nuances.

So far so good

Installed myself after replacing the doorbell transformer so it gets 24v DC. Everything is working great. The only hiccup is the app which flips out on my tablet trying to get the screen orientation right when live-viewing the doorbell, I’m sure Eufy will get that fixed/smoothed out. We have many Eufy security devices and overall are very happy with them.

I wired the video doorbell and it works great. I wish it had longer range and my in-house doorbell worked with it.
