The picture quality on this monitor is great, but the overall experience is frustrating. Switching between connections is incredibly slow, and the software lags frequently. I’m fully up to date on software updates and have super fast WiFi, so that’s not the issue. If you’re looking for a monitor primarily for display quality, it’s solid, but if you plan to use the smart features often, be prepared for some sluggish performance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The 27" Samsung Smart Monitor M5 is a versatile display, blurring the lines between a traditional monitor and a smart TV. For business, its crisp 1080p resolution is adequate for daily tasks like spreadsheets and document work. The built-in Wi-Fi and Microsoft 365 integration are a boon, allowing for cloud-based productivity without a dedicated PC. Think quick email checks or collaborative document editing during impromptu meetings, all directly on the monitor. DeX support is a game-changer, turning compatible Samsung phones into a desktop-like experience, ideal for mobile professionals.
However, the M5 truly shines in its personal use. The Tizen OS provides access to streaming services like Netflix and YouTube, making it perfect for winding down after work. The remote is intuitive, and the picture quality, while not 4K, is vibrant and enjoyable for casual viewing. The integrated speakers are decent for everyday use, though audiophiles might prefer external speakers. The monitor's ability to mirror content from smartphones and tablets is seamless, perfect for sharing photos or videos.
The M5's sleek design fits well in any home office or living space. While the 60Hz refresh rate might not satisfy hardcore gamers, it's sufficient for casual gaming and video content. Its dual functionality as a work and entertainment hub makes it a space-saving and cost-effective solution for those seeking a multi-purpose display.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this monitor for my daily office usage and its excellent for screen sharing and handling multiple windows to work on
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use it for work and it makes it so much easier, it's quick, easy to use, it's not to sensitive to touch,
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this as a bonus on a purchase. It has been a very good monitor, though it has a few hiccups when being used as a second screen for my laptop. Often won't recognize the input if connected before it is on. I really use it as a TV with the included remote, though it did get moisture damage (my fault) so I don't use it as often anymore.
I purchased this about 2 weeks ago. Previously I owned a 24" monitor. Never had any problems with it. Great color and responsibility. It still works being almost 10 years old. The new monitor has great colors, still responsive and has all the new streaming apps. My only complaint is unlike the old 24 " monitor, the 27" doesn't have a tuner. I know stream is king nowadays but some of the older crowd still enjoy OTA television. The picture is much better over the air compared to cable tv. Not a deal breaker but I would gladly buy a similar Samsung monitor with a OTA tuner.
