I used a Denon AVRX-2000 for 12 years and upgraded to a Marantz SR6015 a couple of years ago. Long story short, the Marantz was a defective unit and I lived with it for two years before I finally upgraded to an Onkyo TX-RZ30 last week.
The RZ30 is a big upgrade over the Denon and Marantz. Dirac Live, in my room seems to be an unbelievable upgrade over Audyssey Multi EQ XT32.
The receiver boasts a superb build quality, has excellent power output and runs so much cooler than both my Marantz and Denon with the same 5.1 channel speakers!
My family is absolutely impressed with the upgrade in sound quality. To quote my wife: "Music never sounded so good in this house before".
I think I have discovered a gem in the Onkyo TX-RZ30. I very, very highly recommend this over competing brands of AV Receivers.

The RZ30, an upgrade from the Pioneer VSX-LX303, provides ample power for a spacious basement. Its Dirac Live feature offers a significant enhancement when utilizing the laptop setup, and its video processing capabilities are excellent. The only limitation is the inability to upgrade to a 7.2.4 configuration.

A true home cinema amplifier

I've had the Onkyo TX-RZ30 for a month now, and I'm thrilled with it. I upgraded from a Yamaha AV receiver, which was also very good but a bit outdated. The Onkyo TX-RZ30 has surprised me; the audio quality is impressive, a true home theater experience. I'm not saying this to advertise anything or anyone; I've been an audiophile for many years, and I usually listen to music with other integrated amplifiers, like Sony and Pioneer (757 Mark II). The experience of listening to music through an AV receiver is incomparable to those amplifiers, but with the Onkyo TX-RZ30, it's something else entirely. It's the closest thing to high-end Hi-Fi from the big integrated amplifiers. I've also added a subwoofer to the system... incredible... it's on another level.

I own an RZ30 since 2 months and I couldn't be happier. The dynamics and surround separation is amazing. Enough power to serve 5.2.4. Dirac live is a bonus.

Smooth upgrade from my 15 year old Onkyo I was previously using. Have been happy with sound quality, lvoe the class AB amp. Good features, love the option for preamp outputs and good room correction. No complaints!

The sound is good. The Dirac calibration is very nice. Nevertheless, the user interface is not very good. I don't feel a reel improvement compared to my 10 year old Denon X4000. Changing preset is very slow and you have to go through all the list. At least do a select box in the smartphone app. But the more deceiving is the smartphone app and the audio platform connexion. A lot of bug, slow and not handy at all. Music is not sorted the same way than in the Tidal app so it's hard to find. In album section, you have only the title, not the artist. When you go gack from the player to the track list, it reload reverting... Why didn't you implement Tidal connect! The remote is very cheap for a product of that price range.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Upgraded from the 797 which was having hdmi arc issues only to find out the rz30 suffered from similar issues. I will be returning and switching brands. Embarrassing when people are over and I have to mess around and reset receiver just to get to work
