Nice travel speaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this a little over a week ago and have been putting it thru the test.
Sound quality is good but lacking the bass found in speakers of this price range.
Out the box, I was disappointed with the speaker, but after a full charge, I was surprised at the quality and the sound, minus the bass.
This speaker is extremely portablle, compact, and goes anywhere!
Would recommend this for people who are looking for a travel speaker and don't minds have a lot bass!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Simply amazing!

I bought this speaker with hopes of using it on the boat but also being able to use it around the house when not on the water. I am completely satisfied with the purchase.
When on the boat, the sound is great at 35mph and I have absolutely zero complaints. Moreover, I have found myself using it around the house more than expected. I use it when grilling and today used it when I was cleaning up the garage. The carrying strap is super useful and the battery life is exceptional. It charges relatively fast and lasts for the entire day with battery life still remaining.
Time will tell how long the battery will hold up and for this price I hope a very long tIme.
Overall, I am quite pleased. Nice product!

Do not buy

I bought an extreme 3 14 months ago. Used less than 10 times and will not take a charge anymore. 350 wasted and JBL will not do anything. Do not waste your money on this product. My unit has no damage and looks brand new. Terrible support of product. I fully understand if I damaged product but battery and charging system is junk!!!

Don’t fall for personalization!!!! Waste of money

Absolutely the stupidest marketing campaign ever. They offer you TEXT but then put their logo/branding on top to completely obscure what is under it. It looks hideous. They could put their logo ANYWHWRE but no we have a good sounding but stupid looking speaker. Great idea for personalizing awful execution.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] JBL Xtreme 3
I just got The New JBL Xtreme 3 Speaker
I really like this speaker, the way it looks and even better
the way it sounds.
.. Looks : I am impressed by the way that the new JBL logo
Looks in front of it , a well done logo..
.. Nice Rubber / silicon lines under the speaker , they give it
a better grip on all surfaces..
.. Side bumpers at first they do look a bit weird.. But my guess is that they are there for more protection in case we drop the speaker.. also , i noticed that if you put the speaker in a vertical way , those bumpers give the unit more space for the sound to come out and the driver won’t suffocate..
.. Holding Strap : also has some rubber / silicone lines on it for better grip , and to prevent from slipping / sliding..
.. Charging Port : I really like that this speaker comes with a Type - C charging cable option.. if for some reason the battery dies when i am out and about , i can use my Cellphone cable to charge it.. very good idea JBL team..
.. No Aux connection input in this particular speaker..
.. Sound : The JBL Xtreme speaker lineup has been very popular for their sound quality.. and this one is no exception.. the sound is great , very loud and impressive..
.. Battery fife : it is very good , up to 10 hrs at high volume, and about 15 hrs at reasonable volume..
Overall this is another Well made / Great sound Speaker

Grear speaker. I've had many speakers, including many from ,_| B |_, and this is definitely a new favorite. The Xtreme 2 was too heavy to carry for me, and this is light enough as it lost about a pound of weight and kept the same battery life which is great. I'm impressed by the mids, the vocal frequency is better than the earlier versions.
The bluetooth clarity or tweeters and tuning are better because the clarity in the highs or treble, is much better than others out there. I'm 25 and have hearing that reaches over 17,000 htz, it's nice to actually be able to use it, unlike other speakers that claim to go into the 20k hertz and never reached it.
The elephant in the room you can hear rumbling in the background is the bass. I didn't like the Xtreme 1 because of the lack of clean bass notes, and although I never experienced the Xtreme 2 I thought it wasn't quite ready, but the 3, is very nice. The bass actually has a great kick and nice extension to 42 htz, with some reaction all the way down to 36 htz you can hear in a small bathroom. The mid bass performance from 58-80 htz is fantastic, and what it was tuned for. The upper bass is clean and doesn't interfere with the mids. Because of this, the speaker, for the first time in the Xtreme lineup, can play all music genres at any volume.
I am impressed with the full range of genres this speaker can play. Although it performs well, the bass doesn't overpower genres like rock, classical, jazz, folk, etc., and artists like Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley, and similar stuff sounds great.
And because of the bass, it wubs, something not many speakers this size can pull off, especially when handicapped by passive radiators instead of using ports. (Ported speakers are inefficient and never water resistant nor waterproof)
This water resistance is important where I work is very dusty and I have to rinse my speaker in water to clean it.
The battery life is much better than expected, I get 18-24 hours of use with bassy music at half volume.
The JBL design in the front is a very improved heat-synch. Much better than the small JBL before, and probably helps in hot weather.
The price is good because it makes it available more often than if it was under priced.

Thanks for your feedback. Please know that it's possible that the battery of your JBL Xtreme 3 is losing its capacity. Volume and usage can affect the battery's life. In addition, please know that the battery wears out over time. Even if listening at maximum volume to heavy bass music, the battery should last longer than 60% of the maximum published playtime (15 hours). Please contact us for further assistance.
