Love true wireless surround lacks sound sdjustment

So I finally was able to test the Dolby atmos on Xbox 1 as my Apple TV was only Hd and not 4K. I originally bought the jbl 5.1 wireless sound system but returned so I could have Dolby atmos. The sound is great when you are actually play Dolby atmos. When the audio is regular and it converts to digital surround it’s okay but I can’t make the surround speakers quiet enough even on the low setting. Also there is no adjustment for the middle speaker to clearly hear voice. For this reason I gave it a 3 star maybe I should give it a 4 but I feel like for paying double compared to the jbl 5.1 wireless speakers i initial bought has the ability to actually make those adjustments it also had a clear voice setting. This system does not you only have surround low Med high and the low doesn’t sound any different then the med and no way to adjust specifically for better voice audio. I found it interesting that you didn’t plug in a microphone from where you sit to do the initial set up and speaker test. It does it’s own internal sound speaker test but not from plugging in a microphone from where you sit.
In summary when the source is playing Dolby atmos sound there is no adjustment needed and these speakers work perfectly voice audio is perfect the surround and effects are stunning!
When the source code is lower for example regular Dolby digital the surround speakers are to loud and basically makes them stereo so I turn them off which what’s the point of paying the extra for true wireless surround. If all audio sources were in Dolby atmos or digital x then these speakers would be perfect but majority of sources right now are not. if JBL makes a update to easily make these adjustments then I would change to 5 stars.

Great sound but sub stopped working

Bought this soundbar a few years ago and the subwoofer randomly stopped working when it wasn’t in use. It would not get power with all the general troubleshooting methods. When the product works it’s great except for the limited options to fine tune your set up.

Awesome Bass; Troublesome connectivity!

A month in, and more good than bad. The wireless subwoofer really booms, and can be placed anywhere. The soundbar itself is clear in the lower and mid-range, but gets a little thin in the upper treble area. Lossless audio comes through great, but with lower fidelity source material the speaker sounds a little fuzzy. The detachable rear/surround speakers are above average audio and super-convenient. Not cabinet-quality sound, but good. The Dolby Atmos reproduction is also quite good for a soundbar, even with our 20 foot ceiling. Movies truly come alive!
Our biggest complaint is with the software: the soundbar “fights” with Airplay and our Roku 4K over the inputs, and we have to unplug and reset our JBL almost daily to get it to connect to Airplay if we’ve been using the TV via HDMI.

Thanks for the feedback. Please know that the default audio output from the TV connection where HDMI OUT (TV ARC/TV eARC) connector is prioritized over Optical, Bluetooth, HDMI IN, or Airplay.

Almost perfect....

My husband put everything together, but was furious about the cord. It sounds amazing, nice design, and a slim remote. However the cord that is on the sound bar is short! You have maybe 2 maybe 3 feet of cord you can work with. If you can deal short cords Then this is great for anyone looking for a great sound.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fantastic soundbar

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This replaced a POLK Audio soundbar and subwoofer that I was previously using. That soundbar required an amplifier (with cables running through a wall to a closet on the other side) and a seperate subwoofer which was not wireless (ran a hidden cable to other side of the room).
This JBL soundbar is unbelievably simple to set up. It took me longer to disconnect my old sound bar that it did to set this one up. It does not require a power source as the soundbar (and the subwoofer) each have their own dedicated power cord. Connect the ARC HDMI from the TV to the soundbar and it is running!!
A BIG plus for this is the "detachable surround speakers". I LOVE that they attach magnetically to the main soundbar for storage and to charge. SImply a brilliant idea. For most viewing we keep the speakers attached. But when it's movie time - we just pop those speakers off and place them on the sofa table behind our favorite couch and we are submerged in the movie's ambiance!!
The only thing I can say would need improvement would be the amount of adjustment allowed on the surround level and the subwoofer level. The surround speakers give you a setting of LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH. THe subwoofer gives you a level choice of 1 through 5. I think they could have easily given each a 10 scale for adjustments without much hassle.
BUT, I am WAY HAPPY with this product for the sound, ease of use and setup. My wife is WAY HAPPY for the size and the reduction of wires (seen or unseen). GREAT JOB JBL!!!

The soundbar and the rear speakers worked great but I was disappointed how weak the bass module was and didn’t give me that room shaking effect I was looking for unfortunately.

Bass is very weak in music
on October 8, 2020

I expected to really like this soundbar when dropped a grand on it. However, I only like it on movies. When playing music, the bass is very weak. You have to turn up the volume way up to feel any bass, which is really annoying since at those levels everyone in the building can hear what you are listening to. Midrange is too loud. Don't expect to be wowed by this soundbar if you want it for music. I wish JBL could allow users to lower midrange and increase bass to their liking.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
