Great wireless sound system for your TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm very happy with this speaker system. Setup was effortless. The subwoofer, rear speakers, and soundbar connected automatically and immediately. The rear speakers attach to the soundbar magnetically to charge, which is very clever and convenient. The sound quality is excellent at both low and high volumes, and the subwoofer is very powerful with a huge of dynamic range. Bluetooth connectivity was also effortless from an iPhone 6, and music playing from Spotify sounded great. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Powerful sound bar

Powerful sound bar, the subwoofer just shakes the whole house A real home theater experience. * The only thing I did not find is how I change the equalizer, from what I understand from the support it is something that is set automatically although I would like you to have the option to set a game, movie, or music.

Oof! It's doesn't charge while docked?!?!?

I bought this and returned it within 2 weeks. It does not charge the rear speakers while docked and "charging". If in use, the docked speakers use their batteries for power - regardless of position. Use within the workday guarantees lack of use after work.
Sucks to know that using the speakers to stream music means no movie time thereafter.
Whole situation is covered in weak sauce.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are sorry to hear that our JBL Bar 9.1 didn't meet your expectations. The detachable speakers stops charging when the soundbar is on/being used. It does not use the battery power when it's connected to the main bar. We're always looking for ways to improve. We'll make sure to submit your feedback to the appropriate department.

Truly Impressed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Setup: This has to be the easiest setup I have ever experienced. Plug in the sub, plug in the soundbar and run one HDMI to my tv into the ARC. Done. I was then able to use it. After I let the rear speakers charge for about an hour I then ran the configuration which took between 5-10 minutes. Setup was complete.
Sound: Music was the first thing I listened to, I streamed some music using the built in Chromecast and everything worked as expected and sounded great. The subwoofer has a 1-5 setting for how much bass you want and 3 sounded the best for my room. Movies also sound great and is where this sound bar truly shines. Dolby Atmos has 3 settings Low, Medium, and High and for my room with vaulted ceilings High was the way to go. The wireless rear speakers sounded excellent and I was incredibly impressed by them.
Features: This is one section where the sound bar falls into the good but not great category. It as Chromecast built in but it's audio only, I was really hoping for it to support video as well so I could remove the chromecast I already have on this tv. It also has just one HDMI input which is ok but it would be nice to have atleast three. There isn't an EQ so you really can only adjust Bass(1-5), rear speaker(1-3), and Dolby Atmos(1-3). It has bluetooth connectivity but casting sounds so much better. This also comes with all the mounting equipment you would need to mount the bar and rear speakers to the wall. The rears are also easily removeable from their mounts in case you need to charge them. The rear speakers plug right into the sound bar or you can use micro USB cables to plug them. The magnets on the soundbar are incredibly strong so you don't need to worry about the rear speakers falling off.
Overall: I absolutely love this soundbar, the truly wireless rear speakers are excellent and I just love how they magnetically attach to the soundbar to charge or you can hook up micro USB cables. Music and movies both sound great and because of the simplisity of the setup, anyone can get this up and have it running in no time. Adding this to my smart home was also easy, Google Home immediately recognized the soundbar and after a software update it was now a part of my smart home. This allowed me to add it to my speaker groups and control it within the Google Home app. Again, this is a great soundbar and I highly recommend it. I can't wait to see what JBL does next.

Great Upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this system for about three weeks now and I am extremely happy with it. Compared to the system it replaced I am astounded by the sound quality. Admittedly the previous system was a 2.1, but there is a lot to compare. The Bass on this 9.1 is truly a bass speaker and can be heard and felt throughout the room. the voice quality is amazing as well. On the 2.1 system I replaced, the bass was weak and barely noticeable and I had to turn up the volume to properly distinguish voices, but on this JBL 9.1, I do not. The detachable rear speakers have great sound quality as well. I have had to charge them twice now and my only complaint is that I will have to charge them with a USB cord as the front bar fits in a much to narrow spot to attach the rear speakers. It did have a learning curve to set up the speakers, but I attribute some of that to the fact I have a Sony "smart" TV which isn't all too smart. My current setup is from my Xbox > Sound bar > TV. I have had to reconnect the HDMI (ARC) cable once, so far, for the TV to recognize the video signal. The TV remote does effectively change the sound bar volume, so it can at least do that. I did successfully connect my Android phone to the sound bar and the sound was again, excellent. I am very happy with this system and my family is as well

It’s ok.

Just bought this system. It sounds great but the satellite speakers are WAY too quiet to be any kind of real surround sound. I can’t even hear them unless I walk right in front of them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks for the honest feedback. We understand that our JBL Bar 9.1 didn't meet your expectations. That said, for full Dolby Atmos experience, please make sure that your TV supports HDMI 2.1 e-ARC for TV-out.
