I heard this speaker/product quite some time ago. Loved the sound and output!! I just wish when JBL advertised UPS 2nd day air delivery they meant it. I wanted it for a family pool party over Memorial Day weekend 2020. Didn't receive it in the time frame advertised, so had to buy it someplace else. Oh well JBL.
Hello, I have had this speaker for two weeks now. The build is solid and sound is great when plugged into the ac adapter. Once the speaker is unplugged from the ac adapter the speaker has a reduced volume. I feel that JBL should inform people within the specifications that their is two different volumes whether plugged in or running on battery. Is their anyway to fix thats via firmware update? Other than that the speaker has great sound!

I wanted an outdoor waterproof speaker for listening around the pool. The JBL Extreme 2 has been a perfect fit. It is loud with great sound and the IPX 7 rating is great for around the pool. The battery life is good and the bottle opener on the strap is handy.
To be very honest I have really wanted to return it , I have Bose and Harman kardon Bluetooth speakers that have a much much better sound the extreme 2 is ok at lower type levels, I was buying this speaker for a gas powered golf cart and had high hopes for it and really should of bought the next size up not loud enough and not enough bass but don’t think I would want to invest even more money not knowing if it’s worth it, we are lake people, and for a bunch of people around it’s not the speaker for us hopefully this helps , it’s not a bad product at all

I noticed that when compared to the JBL GO, the sound is not nearly as "bright". The highs sound muffled which I suspect is a result of the waterproofing design. Waterproofing's good for those who swim with their speakers, however JBL should offer a NON-waterproof unit for those of us who don't. I'd much rather have better sounding highs. The base is OK for a speaker of it's size but again, if you like rounded sounding music, this unit misses the mark. Is it a problem specific to MY unit or is it the same for all? Who knows.
