USB to Serial Adapter Cable (USB-A to DB9 M/M) 5-ft.

Our organization uses amateur radio for redundant communications. Part of those communications utilize RMS Express. In order to connect our laptops to the radios we now only use the Tripp-Lite U209-000-R. The drivers load quickly and we don't have to worry about making sure that we have the same cable with the exact same radio. We have tried a number of other connectors over the years, but none deliver the consistency and reliability of the Tripp-Lite. When an emergency strikes, it is good to know that we can still communicate no matter what happens. Thanks, Tripp-Lite!

Purchased this to talk to old slc plcs. All laptops are using Windows 7. All used it just fine by plugging it in. Only one required drivers. Don't know why. Other than that, seems to work great.

lost the comunication

Very smooth and easy installation

I've used a number of USB to serial adapters with my Mac over the years. Each couple of OSX updates seems to break support and require new software and/or drivers. This unit installed easily and worked right away whereas many other ones I have failed to work under the current OS (Yosemite 10.10.2).

Many electric utility SCADA, relays and test equipment still use serial connections and of course the newer PCs do no have serial ports. This solves the problem with ease.
