Customer Reviews for Lenovo - ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II (US English) - Wired/Wireless Connectivity - Bluetooth - 2.40 GHz - USB Type A In - Black
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this keyboard because I've been using my ipad pro as a laptop replacement, and this was perfect because the trackpoint allows me to use it as a mouse without carrying around a physical mouse or trackpad
Overall, very satisfied with the product [+] great typing experience [+] good build quality, including the kick stands [+] pairs easily with ipad and the trackpoint works very well even on ipadOS it's exactly what I was looking for
why it's not a 5 star [-] given that it's a pricier keyboard, wish it was backlit [-] when using with ipad (not sure about other mac or windows laptops) - if I let it sit idle while being paired, when I come back it's no longer paired, even though the ipad and the keyboard are both still fully charged and on. So i would need to pair them again if I left them idle for a while [-] it took a long time to ship. shipping date kept getting pushed back without any explanation [-] didn't come with a charger cable
Love it. Love that it works with Mac! I do a lot of note taking and excel sheet work. I find it much easier to utilize the mouse in my keyboard to copy/past, select lines of text I need to move my cursor to etc.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works as good as the vanilla ThinkPad keybpard. But one strange thing is that the media keys (Fn + F9-F12) don't work at all, either under Windows or Linux. I'm connecting via the wireless USB receiver.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard version 1 as well. This has improvements, and less successful changes. USB C is great. BT connection seems more reliable. But the key travel is more shallow, the mouse nub is lower, the mouse left and right click keys are more shallow as well. Still, the best B/T keyboard I've experienced, and I have bought just about everything available to use with my two Surface Pros.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took awhile for me to get it due to shortages, but no regrets. I do a lot of traveling and carry several mobile devices with me. I've owned several IBM ThinkPads over the past 20 years and love the TrackPoint. If you don't like the little red nub, then this is not for you. Being able to connect to via Bluetooth to an iPad, Surface tablet, and Note 8 is great in itself, but the added USB dongle allows me to connect to other devices that don't have Bluetooth. So instead of carrying a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard, and two different mice, I now have a single keyboard with the layout I'm at home with. And its pretty much a full size key layout. USB C charging is great as I already carry that cable so one less proprietary cable to worry about. Thin and fairly light but feels very sturdy with good key feel.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great keyboard for those of us familiar with Thinkpad keyboards. The Trackpoint is a big productivity aid that allows folks to "mouse around" without having to move your hands away from the keys!
I also like the option of using either Bluetooth or Wireless USB. Some company provided computers disable Bluetooth for security reasons.
The keyboard also works well using Samsung's Desktop EXperience DEX on mobile devices.
My only suggestions would be to allow it to operate as a USB Keyboard (USB A or USB C) while charging or connected to a docking station, and the ability to share the USB dongle with wireless mice since USB A ports are getting more scarce.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally have the same great keyboard/trackpoint on my desktop that I've enjoyed on my laptop for years!
I would recommend this to a friend!
