FN hot keys not working after updating BIOS

It is extremely frustrating that after I ran a suggested BIOS update for my thinkpad P51 the trackpoint ii keyboard FN Keys (F1-F12) stopped working, these are critical keys for me and I have tried all suggested fixture without success, the product is good, but if I cant use the basic key functionality then becomes useless. unbelievable that both thinkpad products can not syncing up among each other
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm using for writing e-mails, documents and coding. It's a really good keyboard, very responsive and reliable. I'm not fan of the trackpoint, but I'm using more than I expected.
Without number pad, it fit very good in my desk.
I would say the feeling using the keys is between Apple keyboard and mechanical keyboard. (ok, may be I'm stretching here).
