Customer Reviews for Lenovo - ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II (US English) - Wired/Wireless Connectivity - Bluetooth - 2.40 GHz - USB Type A In - Black
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great wireless keyboard. I dont know if I could ever use another one besides the Thinkpad keyboard. I can be improved slightly being mimicking the complete laptop experience, by adding the touchpad and areas to place you palms. If this was added, would give it 5 stars.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the keyboard on the X1 carbon but for work I use a different machine so I wanted that experience wherever I was. This keyboard has exceeded my expectations with its speed and connectivity. So far I’m really loving it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you’re looking for a keyboard that has the same feel as the x1 carbon keyboard, this is it. Super comfortable. It doesn’t have a touchpad attached (I bought a separate one) but if you like the red nib this is perfect.
-Setup was a bit frustrating. Make sure you don’t turn Bluetooth off on your computer once the keyboard is connected or you’ll have to use an alternate keyboard/mouse.
-Bluetooth connection about 8 feet away from PC, although not line of sight, resulted in constant missed keystrokes. I moved the switch to 2.4 ghz and everything has been perfect, but I still don’t understand which hardware in my PC is accepting that signal.
-I’d like to be able to turn my PC on with the keyboard but that doesn’t seem possible.
-It feels substantial and that’s a good thing. Reasonably heavy.
-I don’t like that the center mouse button isn’t raised (although it’s slightly textured at the top), so my finger often drifts to the right.
-The key travel seems way shallower than any of the dozen ThinkPads I’ve owned over the years (Last one was a T43). That said, it’s infinitely better than the Dell wireless keyboard that came with my computer.
-I replaced the Trackpoint cap with my favorite, the Soft Rim.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this lightweight, compact and easily portable keyboard. My last bulky large keyboard made it awkward to hit the keys I had been used to on my Yoga laptop. This is just like my Yoga laptop but better for when I need to use my docking staton with external monitors. I feel the price was very reasonable also.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid build. Has good weight to it. Super portable. Sleek, sexy, lightly textured finish with tapered design. Easily pairs even with my multiple MacBook Pro’s & of course my Windows machines. Doesn’t feel identical to the ThinkPad’s keyboard though. I have a T14 & that keyboard feels much better. This keyboard does feel very nice though. I bought this so I wouldn’t have to move my hand to the mouse all the time. I’m a Computer Network Engineer & have used the TrackPoint 2 eight hours a day for the last month & I do love it. It is super comfortable to type on.
The bumps on the F & J keys could be thicker though. The three mouse buttons could use some grip too. They are very slippery. I had to cut out and stick some rubber saxophone mouthpiece cushions on mine. All key bumps are kind of hard to feel. Still not nearly as good a feeling to type on as any of ThinkPad laptops.
That aside it does a great job & love the track point in saving hand movement. Fold out legs have nice angles & red tips. Looks sick! I dig the flip-flopped Control key. Would highly recommend this keyboard as a daily driver at work or home. Great product Lenovo. You can make it better though. I believe in you.
