Customer Reviews for Lenovo - ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II (US English) - Wired/Wireless Connectivity - Bluetooth - 2.40 GHz - USB Type A In - Black
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice size and feel.
Couple issues:
The Fn and Ctrl key can't be swapped, unlike on Thinkpad laptops. So if you're used to having them swapped, you'll have a hard time adjusting. For now, I'm trying to get used to using the right Ctrl instead.
The FnLock light isn't persistent. It turns off after a while, likely to save battery. But it means you can't know ahead of time if the F key you're hitting will do the normal or the "enhanced" function.
This keyboard is great but it is missing a major feature https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Displays-Options-and-Accessories/ThinkPad-TrackPoint-Keyboard-II-Swap-Fn-and-Ctrl/m-p/5015526

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Much better connections than than the previous wired version. The USB-C connector is solid. The wireless connection via the dongle is as solid as Logitech.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After hearing about the pleasant typing experience to be had with Lenovo keyboards, particularly the ThinkPad keyboards, I wanted to give this a try. And the hype is mostly true -- this is one of the nicest typing experiences I've ever had. I really enjoy the feel of this keyboard.
I'm a Mac user, and the keyboard still works, albeit with limitations. Not all the function keys work, nor does forward delete via FN+BACKSPACE, which was really disappointing, but there is a dedicated forward delete key that does work. But Lenovo didn't design this keyboard to be used with Apple computers, so that's not their fault.
All that said, I really do enjoy this keyboard. My typing needs are fairly simple, so it works well for me. And, yes, I would still buy it again, despite the limitations when using it on a Mac.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great build quality and trains your fingers/brain or when using the laptop keyboard (same feel, spacing etc). Built-in feet give a nice little angle to work at and the blueooth connection (I haven't tried usb) has been rock-solid. A+, I just ordered a second for home.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's still a great keyboard if you like to keep your fingers on the home row (like I do.)
In this review, I'm comparing it to the previous generation of this product.
Upsides:
This generation comes with a bluetooth USB "dongle." The previous generation did not.
Downsides in order of increasing severity:
1. It is wireless only. In the previous generation, you could chose a wired version. 2. It is difficult on the new generation to know when your thumb is on the middle button. 3. This may be a driver issue but when you try to use the middle button to scroll, the middle button click event is sent. This is, for me, the biggest pain and the reason I've gone back to my wired keyboard from the previous generation.
These issues are, for me, serious enough that I've gone back to my wired instance of the previous generation.
Lenovo: please fix the middle mouse button issues.
